Your Heart Has Your Joy

Encouragement Today

Today’s Encouragement is to remind you no matter how dark life might be or how sad and discouraged you may find yourself, there is still a joy which can be found in your heart because God lives within you.

The author of Psalm 16:11 reminds us,

“You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence
is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand
are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11 NKJV

God reminds us in His word that we are His sheep and no matter where we are, what we are going through, or how difficult life may be, there is a joy that resides in our lives permanently.

Just as the sheep of a flock knows the sound of their master’s voice, we know His. We may choose to not listen to Him, but this does not mean He has chosen to separate from us. His love is unconditional unlike so many of our lives.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:27-28 NIV

We may stray away from Him, but this verse reminds us that God has not forgotten us. He knows who has eternal life and He knows who will spend eternity with Him. He wants to remind us today this is the “joy” we forget when life becomes weary. You may have turned your back on Him, but He has not turned His back on you.

Today’s challenge is to be observant to everything going on around you. God uses the everyday things to remind us He has not left us or forsaken us. My friend, watch for those coincidences that occur in your life. You see them on a regular basis, but you have turned a blind eye to where they are truly coming from. God is in the miracle business He is not in the coincidence business. Open your heart today to see the small things you take for granted. God’s hands are all over those small things as well.

Ponder this thought through your day, what are you in need of? Are you extremely tired and could use a mental health day? Ask God to provide you with a sign that He is there for you and is listening to your requests. He may not provide you with an immediate day off as His timing isn’t the same as ours, but if you remain observant, He will meet your need and a way which you will least expect. My friend, it won’t be coincidental. God’s work is calculated and on purpose.

Are you in need of the ability to breathe again from the stressors of life? Ask Him for a peace that passes all understanding. He will provide it. Think about this, have you ever been stressed out because you could not figure out a solution to a problem or situation? Have you ever just had this “peace” come over you and it reassured with an “I can do this” feeling? My friend, this isn’t a coincidence. This is God embracing you with a “peace” that passes all understanding and a comfort that everything will all work out.

Lastly, have you been concerned about something you just could not figure out a solution to, but had the confidence it would all work out? My friend, this is God gracing you with an assurance that He has the answer and He has the timing. He is reassuring you there does not have to be a solution right now, but that the problem will resolve itself in due time.

My sweet and struggling friend, keep your eyes open and watch for those moments God is using to talk to you. He uses the simple gestures to reassure you there is “joy” hidden in your heart even if you haven’t seen if for a while.

In closing, today’s gentle reminder is to reassure you no matter how long it has been since you were happy or have seen a real and genuine joy in your life, it is not lost forever. You simply have to take the time to look inside your heart and rediscover it again.
