The View Out The Front Window is Beautiful

Encouragement Today

As I was pondering what to write about I had this theme come up several times throughout my day. It came up in a devotion I read this morning, it came up while I was cleaning as well as when I was driving down the road.

I am unsure who God intended to be encouraged by these words, but it is my hope for whomever reads this that you are richly inspired by God’s message.

Here is an inspiring bible verse that is associated with today’s encouragement.

“Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV

When God gives us a promise, we have the assurance He will always stand by His word. We see one example of this through the above bible verse where He promises to show us a way when we can not see any.

When God says, “I will even make a road in the wilderness and the rivers in the desert;” He is reminding us no matter how difficult a situation is, it is not for Him.  If He can make a road in the wilderness, He can make a way for you to conquer and battle what you may be facing.

God’s spoken words may seem everyday and normal, but I can assure you they are carefully chosen. Have you considered the definition wilderness God used here? What is the definition? Let us consider it for a moment.

an uncultivated, uninhabited, and inhospitable region.
wilds, wastes, bush, bush country, bush land, inhospitable region; More
a neglected or abandoned area of a garden or town.

Now consider the message God is trying to teach us through this definition. How would anyone build a highway thru this rugged terrain called a wilderness? By all measures, this is not possible, however, with God in control of everything nothing is impossible for Him.

Now consider the second portion of this verse where God is going to create a river through a desert. Think about this one for a moment, how? The average person would not be able to do this because it is not realistic, however for God, nothing is too great. God is strong enough to create rivers out of deserts and roads out of wildernesses. These are feats an average person could never pull off, but for God, nothing is impossible.

My friend, are you in need of change in your life and you are looking for a new direction in which to make this change occur? Consider something as easy as not focusing on the past, but instead focus on the future.

As I was driving down the road I had a revelation come across me today. As you drive down the road, take the time to look out the windshield and ask God to show you what He wants you to learn.

As I did this, God used my windshield as my revelation. He had me consider the size of my windshield when compared to my other windows as well as the rear view mirror. Which window is the largest? Yes, the windshield. It is not the back one or the side one, but the front one. This is because you can clearly see what lies ahead of  you.

God used this illustration to teach us a lesson. He wants us to see our future by looking ahead. It is okay to take the time to observe things from the other windows, but God wants us to take more time looking at the road in front of us and not the one behind us.

My friend, in closing, it is important to remember to keep your focus on changing your life to that which is in front of you and not by focusing on where you have come from. Yes, the road behind you is important because you wouldn’t be where you are now if it wasn’t for having traveled this road, but what is most important from this point forward is to focus on what lies ahead. It is safe to keep checking the rear view mirror so long as you keep your eyes continuously looking forward.

You’ve got this… You can do this… Just keep your eyes looking forward. Keep driving forward and watch for the beauty that is just around the bend.
