I am checking in before I get ready to go back to my She Steps Forward Conference . Last night was a true breath of fresh air because the energy that was in the room was electrifying. There was laughter, crying, screaming in joy, and above all, love. The love in that room was contagious and moving and I forgot how women are not afraid to have emotions, let alone show and share them.
I have become so accustomed to living in a home where there is limited to no emotion and that you do not show emotion, that to be surrounded by this energy and emotion was astounding.
We sat through two seminars last night and if the taste of them is anything like what awaits today then today will be enlightening as well.
I am excited to spend the day in the presence of God and to be touched and inspired by His love. I am excited to learn how to manage my life one step at a time, without feeling like I am sinking In a dark hole while trying to do everything. Lastly, I am also excited to learn how to manage my blog and how to focus in on the direction God wants me to take it to provide the most love and encouragement to you, my faithful followers and readers.
Have you ever had a mentor? That was a question that was asked of us last night. My daughter raised her hand, but was surprised I did not. I have had close friends, but never a mentor who guided me in various areas of my life.
An important lesson I took from last night was the importance of mentorship. God intended for us to share our lives with others and to seek out mentors to guide us in the various areas in our lives. He wants us to seek a fellowship with those who can wisely guide us in various areas of our lives so we can be the best stewards of our time and assets that He has blessed us with.
I am going to leave you with this piece of wisdom. Do you live your life isolated from people because you are going through a hard time and you know they will not understand where you are today? My friend, do not continue to stay here. God never intended for us to live a life of isolation. He wants us to be social. God created us with the need to be social. This was why He created two on the day He created Adam. He saw that it was not good for Adam to be alone so He created Eve.
Lastly, think about this, when Jesus walked the Earth and went from village to village preaching the good news about God, His Heavenly Father, did even He not travel with twelve of his closet friends? My friend, God knows it is not good for you to be alone.
My challenge to you today is this, consider reaching out to someone today and allow yourself to feel the love they have to offer. You are worth it. You are special and you have a lot going for you.
Allow yourself the grace to be touched by the hand of God through the gentle touch of a friend you have isolated from.
