My mission is to provide you with inspiration and encouragement to live everyday to it's fullest. I do this by sharing the simple things in life such as recipes to the most difficult of things such a life. We all know life is a struggle and many days a balancing act, but I am here to inspire you to do it well. Everything I write about is designed to inspire as well as encourage you to be a "better" you that you can be. Everything I share is raw and real. I do not cover up or sugar coat what I write about. This would benefit no one. My goal is for you to walk away feeling uplifted and encouraged after leaving my page. Lastly, I am here to remind you that you are… enough and beautiful… just the way you are.
In the past our meal was surrounded by the stress of making the most out of nothing as money was so critically tight, but this year is different for us.
This year I have a job which is enabling us to enjoy a few extras that we are so use to doing without or dealing with the stress to make it happen.
This year however, I was able to think about what we liked and make my plans according to what we want without the stress of trying to make it happen.
So here is to my homemade Apple Pie.
An all time favorite from my past.
I’m excited to have my Apple pie served with a dollop of whip cream.
Then there is the awaited Friday morning serving of pumpkin pie with whip cream for breakfast.
Oh the simple things I love about Thanksgiving.
What is yours?
Leave your comments below. It will be fun to see what you love about Thanksgiving and seeing your memories of the past.
I am a wife, mom, and daughter. I have served in the United States Army, gone to college, and received a Batchelor's Degree in Criminology. I married my husband when he was on active duty in the United States Army so I have the unique knowledge of what it is like to be on both sides of a Military uniform. I have been a wife for a lot longer than when I was in the Army.
While we were stationed in Germany, my daughter, who is 23 years old now was born and I chose to put my career on hold to be a mom and eventually a homeschool mom.
The past 15 years have been wrought with many struggles for various reasons, but it is as a result of those struggles that this blog has come about.
As the years passed and the struggle kept coming, I would say to God, "I'm not sure why we have to go through all of this, but if we have to God, then allow my story to serve as a means of encouragement to others so all this pain isn't for nothing."
Well, the years passed but the struggles never went away. I feel now is the time God wants me to begin sharing my story. It is my prayer as I share my heart that it will serve as a healing opportunity for you, my readers. Know you are not alone. There are hope and encouragement that waits.
