This tab is designed to provide you with an encouraging place to come and be lifted up if you find yourself weak and in need of some strength.
I will try to post daily pictures, bible verses, or quotes to provide you with a daily dose of hope, strength, and encouragement.
We all need to be lifted up from time to time. Some of us who find ourselves struggling with life issues might need them a little more often.
It is my prayer God will richly bless you with what you are in need of here.
Many hugs Friends!!
Special Christmas’ Are Made of Love And Laughter
December 2, 2017
“When we remember a special Christmas, it is not the presents that made it special, but the laughter. The feeling of love, and the togetherness of friends and family that made the Christmas special.” ~ Catherine Pulsifer
Treasure Your Memories More Then Gifts
December 1, 2017
Most memories are triggered by something such as a Christmas song that you hold in your heart or an activity such as ice skating or sledding down a hill back home.
Memories are usually triggered by a sensation such as a smell, a sight, or an activity of some sort and is rarely based on a gift.
This holiday season I’m going to challenge you to treasure your memories more then any gift you could receive.
Merry Christmas. 🎁
When Words Are Few
November 30, 2017
When words are few sometimes the ones spoken hold the most meaning.
Today’s words are few, but I pray they are packed with a powerful message.
Today’s encouragement is going to come via a Christmas song.
Surround Yourself With Unconditional Love
November 29, 2017
Surrounding yourself with the people who love you and appreciate you helps to make Christmas a truly special time of the year.
They are all who matter in this world because thankfully knowing they love you unconditionally truly makes you feel “special”.
Joy of Christmas
November 28, 2017
A precious baby boy was born and changed the world forever.
Imagine the “joy” Mary must have felt in her heart when she held her baby boy in her arms for the first time. The joy a mother feels after carrying a baby for 9 months is a joy the runs deeply in your heart. It is an emotion that is hard to stifle as it is an emotion which is inspired by God.
Now, take that same “joy” to a new level. One where Mary knew her baby was not just her bundle of joy, but one who would be so special that He would change and save the world.
This song is an amazing and worth listening to today.
No pressure, I’m just saying… Wow, I can’t imagine what she was feeling the day Jesus was born.
Take some time to think about how joyous this would have been some 2,000 years ago when Mary gave birth to Baby Jesus. This joy changed the world. Now allow it to change your day and your Christmas season this year.
“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
Luke 2:10-11 NIV
My Friend, remain joyous today.
Sharing The Love God Gave
November 27, 2017
Christmas is about sharing the gift of our love with each other.
When God sent his Son it was symbolic of the love He has for us. He loved us so much He sent His Son to save the world from its wretched ways.
Is this not the ultimate gift of love?
My Friend, share it with others freely knowing it is a gift that will touch the hearts of others and will keep on giving.
“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).”
Matthew 1:21-23 NIV
Merry Christmas Friends. It is my prayer you felt the love I have for you as I wrote this note of encouragement.
Spreading Love and Kindness All Around
Love and Kindness
November 26, 2017
These are such simple acts that everyone from the smallest child to the oldest person alive can do.
Let’s practice them in the week to come. It will be a great way to begin the holiday season.
Ask God to open your eyes for opportunities to show these to others. Then do not question how awkward or weird it may seem, Just do it.
The personal reward through satisfaction will be much greater then any good deed done.
Be a blessing and give this gift of love and kindness to others all around while being the beacon of light to a dark world this holiday season.
Christmas Encouragement Today
Opening Our Hearts To Others
November 25, 2017
During this busy season do not forget to take the time to be a friend to those you love or show a simple act of kindness to the stranger on the street.
The simple random act of kindness can leave the biggest impact on the person who is in need of it. Consider opening your heart and be that person this year.
The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each others’ burdens, easing other’s loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of Christmas. ~W.C. Jones
Showing your love and kindness doesn’t come with a price tag, but is the greatest gift you can give someone this holiday season.
Reason For The Season
Merry Christmas From My Heart To Yours
November 24, 2017
With Thanksgiving over and a refrigerator full of left overs the Christmas Season is in full swing. The hustle and bustle of Black Friday shoppers are out and about in the malls and stores that are fully decorated with their Christmas trees, garland, and festive music.
Today, I will be sharing my first Christmas Note of Encouragement for this holiday season.
It is my hope and prayer this Christmas that we don’t forget the “Reason For The Season”.
Remember, if it wasn’t for the birth of Christ we wouldn’t have Christmas. By including “Him” in the busyness of the season, we will be blessed by the riches only He provides.
Do not be dismayed by the chaos of the season instead allow God to encourage you with a peace, a calming, and a comfort that only He can provide you during this busy time.
Lastly, remember these simple words which are encouraging as we go into the busyness of the Christmas rush.
What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace. ~Agnes M. Pahro
May your holiday season be blessed with a peace which only comes from God and a heavenly enjoyment for everything that comes from this season of celebration.
Merry Christmas! 🎄
Your True Beauty is Found in Your Strength
November 21, 2017
How many times have you felt like you have been abandoned in life?
Have you experienced the loss of a spouse, whether by a divorce or a death?
Have you experienced the loss of a loved one through critical health issues or psychological conditions?
Have you experienced the loss of a trusted friend who you invested your deepest thoughts and secrets into?
There are many times in life where our circumstances change leaving us feeling abandoned and unprepared for what is ahead.
There is a time to grieve the loss of what changed your life, but the key is you can not stay there.
There is a healthy time when you need to move your life forward.
This note of encouragement is designed for you today.
“When life gets you down and no one is there to help lift you back up, you can either continue waiting for someone to come along to help you, stay down, or decide that you’re strong enough to lift yourself back up.” – Kevin Ngo
Be encouraged My Friend, to know you are strong enough to stand back up and move forward with your life.
You can do this.
Don’t allow your circumstances to control you any longer.
Take control of your life allowing yourself to find the strength you once had again.
With this new found strength you will be able to stand tall, stand strong and move forward with your new life.
Make it beautiful, My Friend.
You can do this!
Sharing Our Gratitude With Others
November 12, 2017
With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, what is something you are thankful for?
It can be big or small. The size of gratitude thankfully is not judged by it’s size and there is no right or wrong answer.
Gratitude comes from the heart.
It is that smile you smile for no reason, whether physically or internally.
What made you smile with your heart?
By sharing these moments you encourage others who may be struggling because of hardships to see beyond their struggle and to look for that small glimpse of light where they can see something they can be thankful for.
By sharing this simple gesture of gratitude it gives hope to those who are weary.
It encourages them to look beyond the moment they are in and to actively watch for those positive things things God puts in their lives that they can be thankful for.
Gratitude is a powerful tool God uses in our lives to touch others and to give hope when it was once lost.
Be a blessing to others this Thanksgiving season and share your moments of gratitude. Don’t hide them under a bushel, instead shout them from the mountain tops.
Okay, a smaller scale will work to. Share them with your friends, your social media accounts or anywhere you are that God puts it on your heart to share.
Remember, no matter how big or small the blessing you are thankful for is, God uses it for His good.
Allow yourself to be His vessel and to touch lives this season.
You Are Beautiful
October 19, 2017
No matter how you feel, always remember…
”You Are Beautiful!”
Focus on Only Today
October 17, 2017
“Enjoy Today for Today.
Do not focus on yesterday or tomorrow, just focus on today.”
– A Random Sweet Surgical Nurse
I remember a day back in February when I was at the hospital after my husband had surgery and I was stopped in the hall by a really sweet nurse. She had asked how I was doing as I am sure she could see the pure exhaustion on my face.
What she didn’t know at the time when she stopped me was my daughter had just had surgery of her own not just two weeks prior and she hadn’t recouperated for herself yet when my husband had gone down to a major surgery.
I was just moving like the energizer bunny on pure adrenaline. I was just going through the motions because that was all I could do at that time, but as I talked to this sweet nurse, she reminded me of a truth I still remember today.
Those words came to mind today as I started my day again with what it holds for me and my daughter. Another day and another doctor appointment. This is our “normal” despite how exhausting it is to have multiple appointments week after week.
As I got up refreshed this morning from the pure anxiety of what yesterday held, I felt relieved to know yesterday was done, but that was only until I remembered what today held for us. Thankfully these simple words came back to mind and brought me peace and comfort.
Are you experiencing a difficult time in your life? Are you running on pure adrenaline with the hopes it will sustain you until you can truly stop and breathe again.
Let these simple words bring you peace and encouragement today. Just focus on today, my friend.
I learned that was half the battle of getting through a day.
All too many times we get trapped into thinking about yesterday and how if we made different choices or decisions then today might be a little bit easier, or thinking about the worries of tomorrow, which only serves to compound the worry, stress, and exhaustion of today.
Stop! Today is Just Today.
Meditate on this verse today and allow it to bring a peace and calm to your spirit, mind, and body.
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7 NIV
Hang in there my friend. You’ve got this no matter what is going on. You’ve got it because God has you. He is holding you up in His arms. Turn your worries, frustrations, and fears over to Him and let Him comfort you today. Enjoy and bask in the peace He will share with you today and focus only on that peace “today”.
October 16, 2017
Does life seem like it is falling apart?
Does it seem like more things go wrong then right?
I saw this quote and I hope it helps to encourages you and gives you hope there is a brighter future.
This time of hardship won’t last forever.
Thankfully there are always bright rainbows after the storm.
Don’t allow your broken pieces of life weigh you down.
Look up and watch for your rainbow to appear through the falling raindrops.
While you are looking up look to God to show you which of your broken pieces He wants you to pick up to build a new life with.
Hugs Sweet Friend! You’ve got this! You can do it. Your beautiful life is waiting for you.
Be Brave and Courageous
October 15, 2017
The theme today is based on having the courage to continue moving forward when life seems difficult and your fear could paralyze you.
She has several chronic health issues which she battles day in and day out. To see the pain she endures is heart wrenching as a mom to watch.
The definition of courage means,
Courage, n – The ability to do something that frightens one. “She called on all her courage to face the ordeal” strength in the face of pain or grief.”
My daughter faces many fears as she seeks treatment, countless shots, and surgeries, but she tackles all of them with so much bravery.
As October marks the third year of this journey for her, we find ourselves still on a quest for answers. It truly amazes me how strong, courageous. and brave she has been through all of this.
She has had many doctors through this journey and most have been good, but they found her conditions were more then the knowledge they had to treat her. She stumbled on a really bad one who turned out to be a blessing because had she not gone to him we wouldn’t have found her favorite doctor. Once we got to her favorite doctor her care seem to turn around and go in the right direction. He referred her to new doctors and new doors of exploration and we have managed stay with them. Unfortunately, this story doesn’t have a conclusion yet, as we are still seeking answers. She has had some new treatments and a surgery, which was more then she had prior to her encounter with all the other doctors. We are determined to keep fighting until God reveals the answers this child needs to understand all that is going on.
I am so proud of my daughter as she displays courage, bravery, perseverance, and determination daily. As she fights through this journey can she count on you to pray for God’s direction, healing, and wisdom? She isn’t asking as she doesn’t know I am writing this today. I’m asking as the weary mom who watches her struggle with the pain from it all. Lastly, if you could pray for peace and comfort for her tired body as well. It would mean a great deal to me, as her mom, to see her free of pain for a while.
My dear friend, are you trying to courageously fight your own personal battle and the power of fear is always getting in the way?
Today I have a verse for you to cling to that should encourage you to stay in the battle with your head held high. It will serve as a reminder that God will bless you with the same bravery and courage to fight your battle as He has my daughter. Stay strong and brave and be reminded of God’s promise to never leave or farsake you. He is in this battle with you and He has the battle plans.
Hugs to each one of you battling as well and know you are not alone. There are others who are experiencing the same pressures, feelings and burdens. I will leave you with this bible verse and these encouraging words, “Be brave, strong, and courageous! God is on your side. See Joshua 1:9 for the actual verse.
This is your verse of Encouragement Today… “Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13 NIV
This post is dedicated to my sweet and beautiful daughter. I love you Kiddo and I am here for you every step of the way.
Hope For The Weary Mom
August 1, 2017
Are you struggling mom with the feelings of inadequacy?
Do you struggle with feeling like you are not doing enough, giving enough, loving enough, or understanding enough?
My friend, please know this is the enemy feeding you these lies. If you are following God’s direction to raise your children, then you are doing enough.
If you watch the below video, it is my prayer you walk away afterwards feeling encouraged.
My friend, step back, breathe and know…
MOM YOU ARE DOING AN AMAZING JOB!!!
Character Development Isn’t An Easy Process
July 29, 2017
I am bringing back one of my favorites today on Character.
Character development isn’t always an easy process, but it is one that we all go through during our life time. Our life circumstances mold us into who God is wanting us to become. Hang on tight as the ride might be a bit bumpy, but have faith in God that His plan is always perfect. Remember the refining process of precious gems takes a lot of heat, molding, and shaping before it can become a “fine and precious gem”.
“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,” 1 Peter 1:6-7 NKJV
Taking One Step At A Time
May 9, 2017
Are you facing an obstacle which has you afraid?
- Are you a professional going on a job interview?
- Are you a Soldier or Service Member preparing for a deployment?
- Are you a mom deciding to pull your children out of school to homeschool them?
- Are you a college student taking a final exam?
- Are you going to a doctor appointment and are worried about the results of the appointment?
- Are you a parent getting ready to graduate your child from high school and are concerned about them and their future?
- Are you a high school or college graduate afraid of what your future looks like?
- Are you preparing to be married and are not sure if this is the right decision or not?
- Are you a single parent struggling to make important decisions for your children?
- Are you fighting a fight of your life?
No matter what the fear you are facing is, remember God is always standing by our side, walking our journey with us, and is never leaving us alone to figure it all out.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;”
Philippians 4:6 NKJV
God has gone before you and has paved the way. Take your fear to Him and allow Him to calm your today.
Lastly, remember this important fact…
“Taking one step at a time always gets you to the top.”
Don’t Just… Go To The Positive Side

Time To Reset
April 22, 2017
Your Encouragement Today is to welcome Saturday as not just the first day of the weekend, but as the first day to reset from your busy week.
I am not sure what your Saturday’s look like traditionally, but for many they are the day of getting chores or errands done.
So with that being said, how do you reset your week when you have to wash laundry, grocery shop, mow the lawn, or clean the house?
Take your time. If sleeping in helps you to catch up on much need sleep, do it. If running errands with your spouse brings joy because you can spend time together, do it. Bring excitement to the chore or task by including it with an activity you both enjoy. Does that look like going out to lunch together? Then go to lunch together. Does it mean going on a walk at the beach or at the park or on a nature trail? Do it. The key is to bring the joy back to your life by spending that time together while you are out. By doing this, you are reconnecting with the people you love while taking on the chores that need to be addressed as well.
Take your time in what you are doing. I know for me most of my frustration comes from feeling like I must hurry through my chores to maximize how much stuff I can get done in a day, while I become frustrated when things don’t work smoothly. Slow flow, my friend. Not everything “has” to get done if it means you loose your “peace”.
Loosing your peace doesn’t allow you to pause or reset your weekend. It just brings the same stress and chaos from the week you just had and sets you up for another work week of the same stress you have already been dealing with.
My friend, your challenge for today is this:
- Stop and breathe.
- Mix chores and errands with something enjoyable.
- Find time to do something you enjoy.
- Share it with the people you love and who bring joy to your life.
- Smile or laugh at something funny.
- Look purposefully for something that reminds you to be thankful to God for what He has done for you or has given you.
- Show gratitude to those around you as gratitude has a way of bringing joy back to your heart.
Happy weekend my friend. It is my prayer that you find your peace and joy this weekend allowing you to pause and reset your life. You’ve got this. You can do it!
Tranquility Brings Peace To Chaos
April 21, 2017
How dark is your darkness now?
Do you just long for the day where the sun will shine again?
I promise it will come back.
When you least expect it, a calm to your chaos will return.
God promises to stand by your side no matter what your circumstances are or how dark you feel your life is or has been.
“He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light.” Job 12:22 NIV
I have a challenge for you.
Despite how discouraged you find yourself, you need to reach down and pick yourself up no matter how difficult it is. This is the only way to find a calm during your darkness or chaos.
It is time to find your place to relax and to rest.
If you can find your tranquility you will find peace from your chaos.
What does this look like to you?
- Is it going to the beach or the mountains?
- Is it exercising such as working out, walking, running or yoga?
- Is it finding your favorite nook for a time to read a book?
- It is working out side in your gardens?
- Is it crafting or working with your hands?
It doesn’t matter what the choices are, what matters the most is to find a place of tranquility so you can find that place of peace allowing the sunbeams to shine through your time of darkness again.
You have this friend! God has not forgotten about you, your pain or your chaos. He has been by your side the entire time even if you haven’t felt His presence.
- Talk to Him.
- Tell Him how much pain you are in.
- Trust Him to heal your wounds no matter how deep they run.
- Thank Him and allow Him to guide you to your new destination.
You Are Important Today and Everyday
March 9, 2017
This is your daily dose of encouragement.
You are important! You are important to others who know you and love you. You are important to those around you who are watching you and you didn’t know it.
Walk around today with you head held high and know…
You Are Beautiful
You Are Important
You Make A Difference
Blessings Through Tear Drops
March 6, 2017
I am sharing a note of Encouragement for you. I haven’t done one in a while, but felt someone needed it today.
Trials and hardships seem to be all around us making some days harder than others. I have found comfort in the Laura Story song, Blessings where she talks about what if raindrops came as blessings, healing came through tears, and trials were mercies in disguise. These are powerful words to me on difficult days because they provide a comfort from God promising to provide blessings even when I can’t see them.
I believe God answers our prayers through tear drops because He knows every tear we cry for every tear is a prayer we don’t know how to speak.
I have included her complete lyrics to this song.
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things
‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we’d have faith to believe
Sweet Friend, if today is one of those difficult days where you have cried tear drops, find comfort God is turning those tears into blessings. He is answering your prayers even when you don’t have the words to speak. He loves you and is wiping your every tear and answering the prayers they represent. Hang in there friend and know brighter days are ahead.
Challenges and Obstacles
When we are weak, He is strong
March 1, 2017
Walking in the shadows of others often times has us on a track of self destruction. This isn’t ever a good place to find yourself, but without proper self care will be inevitable.
Have you walked in the shadows of someone or something? Have you walked in the shadow of your children via homeschooling, education, extracurricular activities, or their busy schedules? Are your children small and you are still feeding, diapering, napping, working and trying to hold it all together while trying to be a good mother?
Are you a Military wife or husband with a spouse who is deployed and you are trying to manage your family and household while missing your loved one? Are you worried about their safety while not letting on to your children or other family member?
Are you a spouse of a family member who suffers from Post traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)? Are you trying to manage your loved one as they struggle with a host of challenging issues including angry outbursts, withdrawal, depression, anxiety, and health induced medical issues?
It is easy to get wrapped up in the busyness of life that before we know it, morning becomes afternoon, afternoon becomes night, and night becomes bed time. Then sleep sets in and we do it all over again the very next morning. This happens day after day and before we know it, we haven’t taken any time for ourselves and we find we are weak and in desperate need of a break from the daily duties of life.
Have you lost yourself in the shadows of your life? It is never too late to stop and find yourself again. In all honesty now is the time you need to do this. You can not properly take care of someone else if you are hemorrhaging from your own exhaustion.
There is a reason why when we fly on an air plane and the flight attendant tells us in the case of an emergency to put on our own oxygen mask before assisting your loved ones or those who can not assist themselves. If we run out of oxygen ourselves we will not be able to properly assist anyone else.
This same principle exists here as well. God wants us to take care of ourselves if we are to meet the needs of those around us.
Are you feeling overwhelmed and exhausted? Are you feeling like the world is teaming up against you? Are you questioning how you can possibly do this (fill in the blank) one more day?
“As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord ʼs word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.
2 Samuel 22:31 NIV
My friend, you are in desperate need of a break. You need to take some time for you. You are in need of some private self-care time.
Have you forgotten what you like to do because you haven’t done anything for yourself for a long time? Now is the time to start thinking about yourself. It is never to soon to change and do something new, something you have never done before. So instead of getting frustrated at how you have lost yourself and the things you use to like, take the time to find a new hobby or form of enjoyment.
Ask God to…
- Reveal to you what lessons He is trying to teach you.
- Guide you to a new and fulfilling enjoyment in life.
- Show you how to find rest in your weary state of mind and body.
It is obvious that you are unable to do this on your own terms or you would have been taking care of yourself all along, but it is never to late to seek God for a new beginning.
Love yourself sweet friend to take care of yourself now.
“It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.”
2 Samuel 22:33 NIV
Recovering From A Difficult Week
January 28, 2017
Are you waking up feeling overwhelmed by your week or by events going on in your life? Embrace today as a day of recovery.
Take time out today my friend to regroup your thoughts. Ask God to clear your mind of everything that is overwhelming to you. Ask Him to help you refocus your thoughts on Him for today. He has your burdens already. He knows the outcome to all of them. We just have to learn to give them back to Him and free ourselves of that bondage.
Today is a good day to simply breathe.
Take back your thoughts. Take back your emotions. Take back your feelings. Take back your life. Take back all that has been held captive by your busyness, chaos, grief, and stress.
Below are some ideas to recapture the inner you:
- Is there a chore you have been wanting to tackle that is weighing heavy on you but you put if off for another day, tackle it if it is going to make you feel good when it is done? DO IT!
- Have you been wanting to go for a walk, just you alone with your headphones and some praise and worship music? DO IT!
- Do you want to walk along the beach and have the wind just blow through your hair? DO IT!
- Do you want to build something or create something? DO IT!
- Do you want to curl up on the couch and read a book you have put on the back burner? DO IT!
My friend, life may be difficult at best, but don’t loose hope that God has a brighter future ahead. He is molding you, refining you, and preparing you with the strength you will need for the future. Don’t look down upon this experience as He has everything in your life completely prepared in advance. He loves you. He isn’t purposely allowing you to hurt because He loves you even more than you can possibly imagine. Trust in Him and give Him your all, your everything.
“Yes, my soul, find rest in GOD; my hope comes from Him.” Ps 62:5
Here is an amazing song that will provide encouragement to jump start your day of healing. I turned on my Pandora this morning while making pancakes for my family and this was playing first thing. It was an encouragement to me and I hope it is to you as well.
Kari Jobe/You Steady My Heart (My link isn’t working again, but if you type this song into YouTube it will come up). I included the lyrics below because they are that powerful.
Steady My Heart ~ Lyrics
Wish it could be easy
Why is life so messy?
Why is pain a part of us?
There are days I feel like
Nothing ever goes right
Sometimes it just hurts so much
But You’re here
I know I can trust You
Even when it hurts
Even when it’s hard
Even when it all just falls apart
I will run to You
‘Cause I know that You are
Lover of my soul
Healer of my scars
You steady my heart
You steady my heart
I’m not gonna worry
I know that You’ve got me
Right inside the palm of your hand
Each and every moment
What’s good and what gets broken
Happens just the way You plan
You are here
I know I can trust You
Even when it hurts
Even when it’s hard
Even when it all just falls apart
I will run to You
‘Cause I know that You are
Lover of my soul
Healer of my scars
January 22, 2017
This post isn’t meant to be political but it is meant to show the patriotism that runs deeply through my soul.
I was born into a family who taught me to have a strong value and belief in God and Country. As a result, I joined the Army at the age of 18 and I will never regret the years I served because they taught me what true dedication and loyalty means. This dedication and loyalty molded me into the person I am today. No matter what I do, how simple or complicated the task is, I always strive to do my best.
I am posting a video for Today’s Encouragement because it deeply touches my heart. I am not sure if you are one who will have a tear in your eye when you see the American Flag pass in front of you, or shed a tear when you hear our National Anthem, but if you do, then I consider myself in good company . I believe this is a true expression of Patriotism that runs deep in your very being.
This song touched my heart over the past couple of days so I am going to repost it here today.
Click on the following link at access today’s video, Lee Greenwood and The Army Choir singing his song, God Bless The USA.
This song became meaningful and carried a powerful message to me when I was stationed in Korea. Every time it played on the AFN Radio, everyone in the barracks would open up their doors and just blasted it as loud as they could.
We, as American Soldiers, were able to share this experience together feeling what true Patriotism feels like while serving on Foreign lands. The Korean Soldiers we served with side by side never respected us as American Soldier’s. By doing this we were able to show them no matter how much they disrespected us, we were going to stand together side by side while serving our Country.
It is my hope this will provide you with a comfort that Patriotism offers. It is my hope God will bless you with a peace that can only come from Him. Take a minute today and block out all the troubles your life is harboring and just soak in the words to this song.
Peace My Friend! Let this peace pass over your heart today.
Grabbing Opportunities Through Difficulties
January 18, 2017
Today’s quote comes from Albert Einstein. It is about grabbing opportunities through great difficulties.
Hang tight friend. Opportunity does eventually show itself just when you aren’t expecting it.
“In the middle of every difficulty is opportunity.” Albert Einstein
Sleep Peaceful Friend
January 17, 2017
As the day is coming to a close I want to share a quick reminder that you can take all your worries to God and know that while you are sleeping He is pulling the night shift.
He is working out all of today’s issues and concerns while preparing us for tomorrow.
Here is a gentle reminder there is nothing to great and nothing to small for Him to take care of for us.
Now close your eyes to this verse.
“When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.”
Proverbs 3:24 NIV
Give all your concerns to God and rest peacefully knowing there is nothing you have to fix for yourself.
Go to sleep friend, rest peaceful friend, God is on duty now.
Welcoming Tuesday With Strength
January 17, 2017
I don’t know what lies ahead for your day, but here is a verse you can cling to if you are in need of one.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
Isaiah 40:29 NIV
Your promise from God is that He has gone ahead of you and paved a way for everything you will encounter. Nothing will take him by surprise. He is your strength and if you take that promise with you, the enemy will not be able to wage battle against you.
I too will be clinging to this verse as my Kiddo who has been battling heal issues for over 2 years has her phase one of two sinus surgeries this morning. It is actually a procedure because it is “suppose” to be “easy” and outpatient, but it is still something we haven’t experienced. It is my prayer as they do this today that it is in fact easy because they are doing her easy side first. Next week comes the more difficult side that has a ton of issues. I know she has this and that God will be with the surgeons hands. It is just a shame this couldn’t have been done about a year and half ago. She has endured more than anyone should have to. Her on going health issues is just one of our many struggles we have been through in the past few years, but with perseverance we made it here.
In closing, remember your strength is your hope for today. God will make you stronger than you thought you could ever be. Guard your thoughts so the enemy doesn’t rob it from you. Guard your heart, guard your thoughts, and guard your family with this strength you will have today.
Be Still My Friend, Be Still
January 16, 2017
As we conclude the night of a long weekend, are you feeling anxious about the week to come? God reminds us to be calm. He has everything under control.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Exodus 14:14 NIV
Give all your concerns to God and let Him work out everything that lies ahead.
I know you are saying, “Easy for you to say, you don’t understand what I am going through.” But what you don’t know is that I do understand. I have been here for a long time.
As I write this post, I find myself feeling like a hypocrite because I struggle with this very thing. I struggle with giving God everything and leaving it in His control.
Here is a challenge for all of us. Take your biggest concern and pray about it tonight and leave it with God when you go to sleep. Do not pick it up in the morning. Let God lead the way for your struggle.
If you feel tempted to pick it back up again, STOP, LOOK UP, and SAY NO! I am not doing this, God you have this concern. I am going to let you work this problem out. Pray for God to bring you peace and to remove the thought and concern from your mind.
I will promise to do the same thing.
Key factor to remember is this, if you struggle doing this, start with only one problem at a time and focus on God handling that problem so it doesn’t overwhelm you.
I will be posting this on our Facebook page and if you wish to be held to an accountability level, friend the page and leave a comment under this post and we can pray over this together.
Remember in conclusion, be still my friend. Be still and let God have all your concerns. He is big enough to handle all of it. He promises this in his word.
