Christmas, A Time of Reflection and Many Emotions

Credit: Home. Life. Encouragement

Merry Christmas to everyone who is on Christmas vacation and Christmas break.

It is my sincere and heartfelt message that you are able to make some precious memories and spend some quality time together.

Take the time to rest and watch Christmas movies together.

Take the time to fill your home with the sweet aroma of home baked Christmas cookies together.

Take the time to build a uniquely “your own” gingerbread house together.

If you live where it snows, take some time to play in the snow together. Make a snow angel family, go sliding, or make a snowman and then enjoy some creamy hot chocolate afterwards.

Take some time to sit in front of the twinkling lights of a Christmas tree or the warmth and sparkle of a fire in a fireplace to reconnect with the relationships you have missed or have been struggling with.

The time you spend and the memories you make will be the best present you can give to each other this year or any year.

To those who are not on vacation and are struggling, whether it is with grief, loneliness, discouragement, frustration, anger, or PTSD, know you are not alone. I see you.

For many, it is hard to see the joy the holiday season brings, but if this is you, I want you to know you are not alone.

It is my prayer God will soften the pain you feel and will provide you with a peace to see the sparkle of joy this season whether it is through a song that will touch your heart or the twinkling of Christmas lights you may see in the passing of your day.

It is also my prayer this verse will touch your heart and provide you with the comfort and peace you didn’t know was possible to feel again.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16 NIV

God wants us to remember that He sent His Son to give us the assurance there is better to come.

We don’t need to be hopeless or discouraged because no matter how bad life may seem right now, there is better to come.

Take some time in the week to come to seek God and receive His gift of grace, peace, and comfort.

Big hugs to those who are struggling and suffering today and big hugs to those who are celebrating the season with those who have embraced them.

Merry Christmas to all my friends and followers.

Christmas Wish List

I woke up this morning and realized how much stuff I still have to do before Christmas.

Instead of continuing to feel the stress of it all, I decided to make light of it and create an encouraging image for you in case you are feeling the same stress.

No matter how much we have to do, remember… it all will get done no matter how much we stress about it or not.

Instead, stop, breathe, and rest knowing Christmas will come whether we are ready for it or not.

If the cookies are not made, it’s not a problem. No one will ever remember the year with no cookies.

If you didn’t buy the gift you wanted, it’s not a problem. No one will ever remember the year you didn’t buy that gift because they didn’t know they were getting it.

If you didn’t do an activity or go to the Christmas party, it’s not a problem. No one will ever remember you didn’t go.

What people will remember is if you were present.

Be present for the things that matter. The snuggle time, the quality time, the time where you were present and engaged.

This is what will be remembered this Christmas Season.

We’ve got this, friends!!

The Greatest Gifts Aren’t In Pretty Boxes

Credit: Home. Life. Encouragement

Sweet Thoughts on this Christmas Week:

Some of the greatest gifts don’t come in packages, but in lab coats instead.

For anyone who has ever experienced a bad doctor, you realize with a quickness to cherish the good ones.

As I sit here waiting for Kiddo again in this large parking lot, I’m praying that God will touch the hand of Dr. Ben-O’ and that his treatment plan today will break this vicious migraine cycle and she will receive the best gift in life and that would be to be pain free for Christmas.

Thank you God for placing this amazing doctor in Kiddo’s life and for giving him the determination to not give up despite the great difficulty in treating her.

Remember, as we draw closer to Christmas Day and you are finishing up your shopping and wrapping of all the gifts that will be placed under the Christmas trees, that the most precious of gifts are not wrapped up in pretty boxes, but in those we are with all through the year.

Today my greatest gifts are those who wear lab coats. Three in particular. They are Dr. Ben O’, Dr Jeff, and Dr Malone. These three men have never given up on my daughter and for them my heart is eternally grateful!!!

Remembering Memorial Day 2020

I am remembering and honoring my dad and his memory this Memorial Day weekend.

My dad passed away February 13, 2008 due to the injuries he sustained during the Vietnam War.

He selflessly joined the United States Marines to serve his Country and sustained life altering injuries that not only took years to partially recover from, but ultimately took his life from.

“Honoring my Dad’s Sacrifice”

My dad was a “True Hero” who was brave, courageous, gentle, strong, loving, caring, and humble. He gave so much to many, to include his Country.

I am so blessed to call him my dad, while others called him husband, friend, and comrade.

He never met a stranger and his Service to our Country was what God used to make those around him respect him and honor him.

This Memorial Day, I proudly call him to everyone’s attention. He is one of many who we need to remember and honored this weekend.

There are so many Hero’s who paid the ultimate sacrifice and we need to, as a thankful Nation, remember and honor each and everyone of them.

We need to let their families and friends know that “We Will Never Forget”.

Let’s start a list to Honor and Remember them this Memorial Day Weekend. Do you know someone who paid the ultimate sacrifice? Leave their name and picture below so we can celebrate, honor, and respect them as well.

Honoring The Service of Our Veterans

Thank you to all who have served to protect our Country and our Freedoms.

If you ever question the state of our Country and all her faults, consider living outside of it. You will quickly realize the full impact of her worth when you do.

I am blessed and honored to know so many people who have served, respected, and honored her. Thanks to all of you and the sacrifices you have made, she remains a great Nation.

To all my Veteran Friends today, I salute you!!

Recognizing My Daughter Today

It is National Daughter’s Day

I am recognizing my sweet daughter for National Daughter’s Day.

I love you Kiddo. Your heart is a sweet and gentle one. You are fun loving and I just love your sense of humor. You always know how to make me laugh at just the right times.

God has special plans for your life and although it is busy now and isn’t always easy for you, one day it will all be worth it.

I love you Katarine!! You make me proud to be you momma!

Honoring Our Fallen on Memorial Day

I am remembering my dad today. If he had not been wounded on the battlefield in Vietnam, he would be here today.

He was an amazingly gentle and humble man who became a Marine by choice and he died a Marine by grace.

As I remember and honor my dad today I am keeping my mom in my thoughts and prayers as not a second of every day she doesn’t think of or miss him.

He touched many hearts and lives of those who were blessed to know him for he never met a stranger.

Time and death separates us now, but Heaven will reunite us one day.

Until then, God blessed me with many memories that keeps him close at heart.

Honoring Mothers Today

To the moms who are struggling today (for the many various reason there are), I want you to know you are loved for the gentle spirit you are.

You are special for the million tiny things you do, that no one sees, and you are beautiful because God made you so.

Today is the day we honor you as a mother, but it doesn’t stop with today.

As a mother, we know you are important every day of the week and every month of the year.

Take some time today to just breathe and know, despite the lack of possible acknowledgement, you are important and you are special!!

Mother’s Day Gift Book

I am promoting another wonderfully amazing book, Dear Mom Letters, written by Rachel Marie Martin.

It was designed to encourage the busy mom who is in need of a few quite moments.

Consider getting this for your mom (if she loves books and stories such as the ones you will find in this book), or for your busy mom friend, or for your frazzled daughter who is trying to find her way through this busy time.
