Wisdom Prevails While Pride Destroys

Credit: Home. Life. Encouragement

This was my daily email Bible verse for today.

“Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.”

Proverbs 13:10

Is this an area you are struggling with in your life right now?

If the answer is yes, try making a conscious effort to break this cycle.

I am going to give you a word for the day to serve as a reminder to ponder through out the day and to prepare yourself for when you encounter prideful situations.

Word of The Day

Wisdom

Instead of starting a debate or a quarrel with someone over an issue, take a step back and say, “No!”

This is not worth my effort.

I am going to refuse to be prideful right now.

I don’t need to be.

I don’t need to prove my point to this degree.

I refuse to look badly in this circumstance.

No, instead I am going to make a wise choice to just walk away.

Choose wisely what choices you make.

Seek God’s direction in how to best handle your situation.

Not every situation needs an immediate open mouth insert foot response.

Instead, remember to do this;

Stop… Pray for wisdom… and Allow God to show you how to respond.

If that does not work there is always the distraction method.

Stop… drop… and roll only because that is the one we all remember best.

They may think you are a weirdo and may need professional help, but one thing is for sure… you won’t come across as prideful in your situation. 😂

I’m sorry! I couldn’t resist.

The important key to remember is this, God looks down on those being prideful.

Instead, He wants us to choose wisdom because for every wise choice we make in our life, we will be in His favor and He will bless us for the decisions and choices we make.

I hope this helps for you to start your day with some inspiration, motivation, and just a tiny bit of humor for your day.

Let’s all make wise choices today and say, “no” to anything prideful.

The Bridge To A Brighter Tomorrow

Encouragement Today

design-68My friend, my message today is to keep your chin up if you are feeling down and discouraged. There is a brighter tomorrow.

“The darkest night is often the bridge to the brightest tomorrow.”

Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Life’s burdens can be heavy. There is death, sickness, financial struggles, and relationship issues all around us. I wish I could say I know someone who isn’t struggling, but unfortunately I do not. I had once heard a saying that is so true….  You are either living in a valley, preparing to go into the valley, or living on top of the mountain.

The valley is symbolic of living in a time of darkness, trials and troubles. Living on the mountain is symbolic for the period in time where life is going okay. It is often times associated with a time when you are able to breathe a sigh of relief.

You are the only one who knows where you are at this moment.

Is your life going great and everything is stable and established? Are you single and living your dreams to the fullest? Are you married and your marriage is everything you hoped for and more? Is your job everything you imagined and you are on track for this amazing promotion or opportunity of a life time kind of advancement?

My friend, continue to live in this moment. Build up your strength, become knowledgeable, and enjoy this time of reprieve. I am not trying to be your doom and gloom, but to be your small inner voice of wisdom that says you will not stay here forever. Life doesn’t allow for this to be all the time. It does however allow for you to become mentally and emotionally stronger. Gather up all the riches you are experiencing and hide them in your heart for a later time when you may need to fall back on them to pull you through a harder time.

Now for my friend who is struggling, hold your head up high and know just as the person on the mountain top is not going to remain there forever,  I have good news for you. You are not going to stay in the valley forever.

Just as the mountain top offers it’s time to breathe and regain strength, the valley has its own benefits as well. We gain wisdom, knowledge and strength because God provides teachable moments during these time to learn from.

Have you ever heard the saying. we do not learn from the good times, but from the bad? Think about the truth behind these simple words.

  • The times when you live in hardships you learn to look for the smaller blessings in life therefore you tend to not take them for granted.
  • You learn which relationships are trustworthy and loyal because the average friend will turn their back on you during the difficult times.
  • If you struggled through a financial hardship you have learned financial skills to live by in order to survive that difficulty.
  • If you have experienced health issues you have learned how fragile life can be. The blessings of getting through everyday are no longer assumed, they are treasured.

My sweet friend, no matter what life is offering you at this time, know you will not be here forever. Whether you are enjoying life to its fullest and you are resting on the mountain top or you are in the valley of discouragement and grief, please know God has a promise for you.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” -Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

The lesson here is to be in constant communication with Him whether you are struggling or life is going well. He wants to hear from you. He wants to celebrate in your joys and accomplishments as well as your deepest hurts. He knows everything going on because He has never left your side. Keep your prayers of gratitude and thankfulness going forward as well as your cares and concerns.

He is listening and hearing you. Allow Him to remain in your life at all times, not just when you need Him during your darkest hours.

Remember… You are Enough! You’ve got this thing called Life!

Pray Over Your Planner

flowers-desk-office-vintage.jpgToday’s gentle reminder before you fill up your planner for the week is to pray about the activities or meetings God wants you to put into it.

All to many times we start our weeks feeling the stress of everything that “has” to be done without praying over it all first. Ask God to guide you in what you put into it and be sure to ask Him to show you what can wait for another time.

By doing this we will be doing only what God feels we need and not “everything” we feel we need to do. This will enable us the freedom to walk away with a peaceful feeling instead of that all too familiar over worked and over stressed feeling we all claim as a way of life now.

Happy Monday My Friends!

There is Power In Your Words

Learn To Use Your Words Wisely

Words can be used to heal, words can be used to hurt.

Words can be used to strengthen, words can be used to weaken.

Words can be used with love, words can be used hurt.

Words can be used to encourage, words can be used to  discourage.

DesignHow many times have your choice of the wrong words caused pain to someone you care about? This can be easily done when you don’t think twice about what you say and when you say it.

It is best to not say anything if you are frustrated or angry. You can’t take back what is said once it is said. Rule of thumb It is best to not say anything then it is to have those bad choice of words last forever.

God intends us to use our words for good. He intends us to be encouragers to each other not hurt them.

“If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Think twice my friend, the next time you speak to someone. Are your words going to be of comfort and encouraging to someone or are they designed to be hurtful. Choose your words wisely because they can’t be taken back once they are said. Use them wisely as they will last forever.
