Are you having to make important decisions in life and are concerned what are the best choices?
These decisions come in various forms, shapes, and sizes. They come in as many as there are people having to make them.
It is insignificant how big or small they may be as everyone’s interpretation of this problem and decision is all that matters.
God made us uniquely different and how we handle the stress of our lives and circumstances is all that matters to Him.
Even David struggled in his day. He poured out his heart just as we do today. He sought the guidance of God in how to handle decisions he needed to make just as God wishes the same from us.
“I cry out to the LORD with my voice; With my voice to the LORD I make my supplication. I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare before Him my trouble. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, Then You knew my path…”
Psalms 142:1-3 NKJV
Here are some areas you may find yourself be struggling with today.
- Are you preparing to send a child off to college and are dreading the day you have to say good bye? Are you beginning to doubt if you taught your child all they needed to know before going out into the adult world? What if society steers them down the wrong road? What if that road brought harm to them? My sweet and concerned parent, trust the training you instilled in your child. They may wander as they go out in search of who they are and where they will go with their life. This is the time to trust God and know you rooted into them their knowledge and relationship they would need with God. Lean on this verse as your comfort when fear and anxiety try to take root in your heart
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 NKJV
- Are you looking to change jobs and are concerned if this is the best decision you could make for your family? Are you concerned if this will take time away from your family? Are you concerned your financial situation may be impacted negatively by this decision? If you have gone to God to seek counsel with this important decision, then there is no need for fear or to be concerned. Cling to this verse that God will supply all your needs.
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 NKJV
- Are you facing a medical procedure or surgery you are concerned about? Are you fearful the doctor doesn’t know everything they need to know to perform the surgery? You ask yourself a host of questions creating doubt that wasn’t there when the news was first delivered to you. Sometimes those questions are beneficial while others serve to create doubt and axiety about the situation that didn’t need to be present. Cling to this verse and find peace that God will strengthen you during this time of healing.
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” Isaiah 41:10 NKJV
- Are you considering pulling your children out of school because you are not satisfied with the school system and are looking to homeschooling them? Are you concerned if they will learn from you? Are you concerned you may not have the knowledge needed to educate them properly? Are you concerned with if you are organized enough to make the day run effectively and efficiently therefore giving them the quality education you wish for your children to have? My friend, trust God’s guidance and your children will blossom richly. He will instill in you everything He wants your children to learn. Lean on this verse as your encouragement to begin this new journey. With God by your side there is no room for fear and anxiety to take root. Stay focused day by day as this will sustain you during the difficult days.
“Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass. For I proclaim the name of the LORD: Ascribe greatness to our God.” Deuteronomy 32:2-3 NKJV
All of these above can be difficult decisions that can cause anxiety leaving you feeling lost and unsure if you have made the right choices. If you allow this anxiety to run unchecked, you can quickly find it running your life.
“Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.” Proverbs 12:25 NKJV
My friend, do not let this darkness take root in your life. It is easier to turn to God in every decision you make no matter how easy or difficult it can be. If God is in control of every decision the root of anxiety won’t be able to take hold and grow. It won’t need to because you have trusted God in every decision of your life.
With this trust a peace that passes all understanding will be in control over your life. Isn’t peace a more pleasent emotion to be rooted in your life then the ugliness and darkness of anxiety?
“Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the LORD is His treasure.” Isaiah 33:6 NKJV
Seek God for daily wisdom and guidance and God will surely guide you to the decisions He wishes for you and your family to make.
